Anna Morton Johnson, 82, of Owensboro passed away in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Princeton Medical Lodge. She was born December 28, 1938. The Daviess County native church membership was sustained for many years with the Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY. She ministered on the Usher Board, assisted on the Pastor’s Aide Committee, and served in the Culinary Department. In her later years, she moved to Texas to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She attended Western High School and later was employed at both GE and Westinghouse before retiring at Ragu-Unilever after 15 years of service. Her hobbies included reading, baking, spending time with her grandchildren and nieces.
Anna Laura is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Carmen Morton, 1 daughter Marilyn, 2 brothers Ernest and Robert Lee.
She leaves to cherish her memories is her husband Donald, 1 son Whaylon (Merina), 3 daughters Judy (Glen), Cynthia, and Velita (Derrick), 8 grandchildren Ebonye, Sharla, Glenisha, Moriah (Caleb), Macey, Cynthia, Cicely and Derrick II, 3 great grandchildren Erryn, Kaysen and Canaan, 2 brothers Charles and Michael, 1 sister Gwenn (William), nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Private Services will be held Friday, March 5, 2021, 12 Noon at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY.
Visitation from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Zion Missionary Baptist Churchin Owensboro, KY on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
Burial will be in Rosehill Elmwood Cemetery, Owensboro, KY with Rev. Larry D. Lewis, Eulogist and Officiant. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville, KY is in charge of arrangements
Family and friends attending the visitation or funeral service shall be within current health and safety directives/guidelines/ social distancing. Those in attendance are required to wear appropriate protective masks throughout the duration of all services.
