Carol Lee Axton Riley, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at her home. She was born on November 11, 1937 in Jefferson County, KY to the late Woodford Edwin Sr. and Mildred Lee Brown Axton. Carol Lee graduated from Eastern High School in 1955 then attended the University of Kentucky graduating with a Bachelor's Degree. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She worked for many years in her late husband's dental practice. Carol Lee was a member of First Christian Church where she served as a deacon and was a member of the Junior League of Owensboro where she was the chairman of the first annual JLO Charity Ball. She was also a member of the Fleur De Lis Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dr. John Donald Riley, on March 23, 2018.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Riley Glenn and her husband, Mike and a son, John Woodford Riley and his wife, Lori; five grandchildren, Meaghan Lee Glenn, John Woodford Riley Jr., Riley Elizabeth Glenn, Jenna Axton Glenn and Lucas Clark; one great-grandson, Carter Malone Riley; a brother, Woody Axton and his wife, Sue; a niece, two nephews and Paula Wink, a longtime family friend and caregiver.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Services and burial are private. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Christian Church, 700 J.R. Miller Blvd., Owensboro, KY 42303.
