Carolyn Steele

Carolyn Ann Martin Steele, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born on Aug. 28, 1941, in Owensboro to the late J.C. Martin and Elsie Tanner Martin. She retired as a seamstress after 41 years from Murphy Miller later known as HON Co.

She enjoyed flowers, gardening, watching UK Basketball, but most of all she loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Carolyn and Harry loved spending time together on their yearly trips to Florida.

She also was preceded in death by her brother, John Larry Martin.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Harry Steele; two sons, Dennis Wymond (Kimberley) Steele of Goodlettsville, TN, and Thomas Jason Steele of Maceo; two grandchildren, Davin Phoenix Steele and Karleigh Jayce Steele; four brothers, Allen (Norma) Martin of Clermont, FL, Donald (Frances) Martin of Somerset, KY, Michael (Gail) Martin of Owensboro, Perry "BoBo" (Jackie) Martin of Owensboro; two sisters, Linda Martin O'Bryan of Owensboro and Mayrene Galloway McPherson of Louisville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Steele will welcome family and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
