Clarence F. Freeman, 86, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by close family and friends. He was born in Daviess County on January 16, 1933 to the late Charles and Artie Mary Feldpausch Freeman. Clarence was retired from the Owensboro Fire Department where he served for over 28 years, 20 of which as a captain. Clarence was also a former member of the United States Airforce and a lifetime member of AMVETS. Clarence enjoyed working day and night helping and cooking for others without expecting anything in return.
Along with his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his siblings.
Clarence is survived by his daughters Karen Marie (Bob) Kilmer, and Sherry Freeman; their mother, Helen Freeman, his grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Kilmer, Savannah, Seth and Kyle Maxberry, his dear friend of 33 years, Brenda Maxberry and her family.
Services will be 12:00 pm Friday, May 31, 2019 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, with Father Suneesh Matthew officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
