Donald MD

Dr. Donald T. Barnes DVM, 87, of Owensboro, passed away on September 3, 2018 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born January 29, 1931 in Beaver Dam to the late Lyter Conn Barnes and Lucille Taylor Barnes. Donald graduated in 1955 from University of Georgia Veterinarian school. He was one of the founding members of Kentuckiana Animal Clinic and a long-term member of Southside Church of Christ. Donald was known for his eccentric style and taste, with a fabulous sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia K. Jenkins (Aaron); a son, Terry W. Barnes (Mary Lee); grandchildren, Jordan Huestis (Nick), Taylor Barnes, Caleb Jenkins, and Ryan Jenkins; a great grandson, Grayson Huestis; sister, Nelda Gary; and a brother, Dale Barnes.

The funeral service for Dr. Barnes will be 12 pm Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Jarrod Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 8 PM and Saturday from 10 AM till time of service at the funeral home.
