Dorris Gale Kyle Shackelford

Dorris Gale Kyle Shackelford, 71, of Owensboro, passed away on October 29, 2023, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born August 24, 1952, in Perry County, Indiana to the late Paul Edward Kyle and Lillie Brown Kyle.

Dorris enjoyed painting, ceramics, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Dorris was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Boyd Shackelford; 4 stepchildren, Jeff DeHart, Tony DeHart, Donna Heep, and Christen Raymer; and her brother, Tommy Kyle.

Dorris is survived by her children, Carrie (Jason) O’Bryan, Natalie DeHart Hill, Andrew DeHart, Angie (Rocky) Northern, and Chris Shackelford; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul Kyle and Dennis Kyle.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.
