Emma Joiner Winkler, 97, of Philpot died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest. She was born on December 10, 1920 in Stewart County, Tennessee to the late Sandy Joiner and Ethel Shelton Joiner. She was a member of Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Winkler, on January 7, 2005; a son, Jerry Winkler, on February 7, 1967; a daughter-in-law, Connie Winkler, on November 9, 2016; two brothers, Clarence Joiner and Bert Joiner; and three sisters, Ruth Hicks, Geneva Walker, and Pauline Perry.
Survivors include two sons, Paul R. Winkler and Tim R. Winkler and his wife, Christine; five grandchildren, Zachary Winkler (Jaime Phillips), Brandon (Sarah) Winkler, Jason (Kristi) Winkler, Ashley (Ishmial) Chambers, and Kimberly Easler; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and on Tuesday from 9:00am until 10:00am at the funeral home.
