Frederick Lawson

Frederick Dennis Lawson,79, of Owensboro, passed away April 12,2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born June 8,1939 in Hancock County to the late Mary Louise Lott and Frederick Joseph Lawson. Dennis graduated from Technical High School in 1958.

He worked at Peak's Shoe Store four years; Interstate Clothing Store for 28 years; and Hickory Springs Manufacturing for 16 years. His position at Interstate Stores was salesman, buyer, and manager. He traveled to many places, including New York. Dennis belonged to the Downtown Businessman's Association.

He taught Sunday School, coached the church girl's softball team, and won many bowling league trophies. Dennis loved to fish and was a hard worker. He was the rock of the family. Dennis was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Mac and Tony Ridings; and his sister, Vickie Lynn Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Ann Gray Lawson; son, Dennis Michael Lawson; daughter, Lisa Ann (Donald) Fitzgerald of Owensboro; sisters, Patsy Gail Head of Owensboro, Janet Louise Dykes of Arkansas and Maxine (Michael )Rhoades of Daviess County; brother, David Allen (Carolyn) Lawson of South Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer Dawn Haynes, Christopher DeWayne (Heather) Cupples, Donald Ray Fitzgerald and Desmond Ray Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Shaolin Dru Cupples, Bioncee Denali Haynes, Orion Dawn Haynes, Lennon James Cupples and Laurel Ann Cupples.

The funeral service will be 12 Noon, Tuesday, April 16 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 3pm until 8pm Monday evening and 11am until 12pm Tuesday.
