George Steven Bellmar, Sr departed this world on April 10, 2023. He was born on October 13, 1946 in Hawesville, KY to the late Mary and William Bellmar.
He was a Sargent in the US Army and worked several years at Davis Trucking in Troy, NY. Later, he was employed at Hickory Springs Manufacturing in Owensboro and retired from there.
His favorite hobbies and pastimes were playing with his grandchildren, deer hunting, fishing, attending drive-in movies, and working on cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph M Bellmar, maternal grandparents Mary Frances-Mundy-Brown and Kermit Brown, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Betty Bellmar, only daughter Cherry Bellmar, sons George Bellmar Jr, Andy Fall, Jimmy Hughes and Mike Hughes, 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a sister Gloria White, brother William Bellmar, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service honoring the life of Mr Bellmar will be noon Thursday April 20, 2023 at Greater Ebenezer Temple Baptist Church, 1528 W 9th St with Pastor James Moore officiating. Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Wednesday April 19, 2023 at McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 W 5th St and 10 AM until time of the service Thursday at the church.
