Herbert Morton, Jr., 79, of Owensboro, got called home to be with his Savior on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Owensboro Center. He was born January 2, 1940 in Daviess County to the late Herbert Morton Sr. and Ina Huff Morton. He had worked at Mattingly Automotive and was a US Army veteran. Herbert enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching UK basketball. He loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Morton; and sisters, Beverly Jean, Grace, Josey, Faye, and Mary.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Jane Morton; son, Jimmy Herbert Morton; daughter, Elizabeth Vickie Lynn Devine (Rusty Millay); grandchildren, Christopher Morton, Natasha Lynn Morton, Megan Michelle Lanham, Drew Morton and Amanda Lynn Devine Ashley (T.J.); 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Louis Morton; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in the chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
