James Larry Blacklock

James Larry Blacklock, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his home. He was born August 24, 1943 in Daviess County to the late James Roby Blacklock and Mabel Willis Blacklock. Larry retired after 21 years in the U.S. Navy as Senior Chief Petty Officer and was a member of Southside Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Faye Blacklock.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Jane Stackhouse (Scott) and Karen Lynn Mizell (Thomas); four grandsons, Christopher Stackhouse (Jennifer), Benjamin Stackhouse, Joshua Bates (Karis) and Michael Bates; two great-grandchildren, Maverick and Leo; sister, Patty Head; and a nephew, Jay Cotner (Andrea).

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Elmwood Cemetery. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
