James H. Evans of West Paducah, Kentucky died Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care. He was born in Owensboro on March 2, 1949 to the late James R. Evans and Norma Wiggington Evans. James retired from Commonwealth Aluminum, was a member of Newton Creek Baptist Church, and loved his church family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up. He was a veteran of the United Sates Army and served during Vietnam. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Evans; a son, Brandon Wade Evans; and a grandson, Jacob Evans.
Survivors include a daughter, Ashley O'Donley (Jeff) of Paducah; grandchildren, Mackenzie O'Donley, Kendall O'Donley, Gavin O'Donley all of Paducah, and Wade Evans of Louisville; a brother, Onis Evans of Whitesville; a sister, Polly Fort of Hartford; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.
