Linda Haire

Linda Adams Haire, 76, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Linda was born Jan. 9, 1942, in Owensboro to the late Mitchell Adams and Mary Alice Newbolt Adams Melhbauer. She was a retired department manager from Walmart, where she worked for 14 years.

She was a member of the Baptist faith.

She enjoyed gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Paul Stephen Bennett; and her stepfather, Leo Melhbauer.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jerry Haire; three sons, Michael Bennett of Owensboro, Ty (Cheryl) Bennett of Pace, Florida, and Codee Frakes of Owensboro; a daughter, Kathy Bennett (Kenny) Sago of Owensboro; two stepsons, Mark and James Haire, both of Owensboro; a stepdaughter, Darlene (Jason) Higdon of Louisville; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Barbara Adams (Harold) Embrey and Donna Adams McCoy, both of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are noon Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial follows in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
