Marvin Moseley Jr

February 11, 1922 — July 15, 2018

Marvin Markland Moseley, Jr., 96 passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Born in Owensboro, the son of the late Marvin Markland Moseley, Sr. and Amy Howard Moseley, he graduated from Owensboro High School and Centre College. Mr. Moseley played basketball for both his high school and college teams. He was a World War II veteran of the United State Army, having served in the European Theatre where he was awarded the Purple Heart. With his partner Ralph Kunze, he operated the Moseley & Kunze We 3 men's store for more than 30 years. His community commitments included serving on the Owensboro Board of Education and as a member of the Lion's Club and the Jaycees. Mr. Moseley was a devoted member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Maverick Sunday school class, served as a deacon and moderator, and taught Sunday school for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Virginia Moseley and his sister Martha Jane Stevenson.
Mr. Moseley is survived by his children Mark Moseley and his wife Therese of Lexington, David Moseley and his wife Anne, and Amy Lewis and her husband Wayne all of Owensboro; his grandchildren Jay Postlewaite (Sherry), Susan Moseley, Nathan Moseley, Zach Moseley, Addie Mazzone (Vince), Sarah Azevedo (Billy), Emma Richardson (Todd), and Brown Lewis;
and great-grandchildren, Lindsay Postlewaite, Carter Postlewaite, Ashley Moseley, Rhodes Richardson, Walker Azevedo, Kirby Azevedo, and Eliza James Mazzone; and great-great grandchildren Lyla Givens and Eleanor Postlewaite.
The funeral service for Mr. Moseley will be 11 am Saturday, July 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Strahan officiating. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm on Friday July 20, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 10 am at the church. Burial will take place at Rosehill Cemetery following the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church and Hospice of Western Kentucky.
