Mary Helen Dennison, 80, of Owensboro went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 16, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Ms. Dennison was born June 5, 1937 in Daviess County to the late Sylvester and Louella Whistle. She had worked at Owensboro Linen Service and then at Gabe's Restaurant as the Kitchen Manager. Mary was a devoted member of Church Alive and served in many ways included the women's ministry, church kitchen team, and as a prayer warrior. She also helped with the Salvation Army. She loved shopping, decorating her home, cooking, and caring for her many flower beds. Mary was an amazing and caring mother who loved her children with all her heart and being a grandmother to her many wonderful grandchildren.
Ms. Dennison was also preceded in death by her two previous husbands, Jerry Lamb and Virgil Dennison; brothers, Billy and James Edward Whistle; daughter, Mechael Lewis; grandson, Jarrod Wilson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Rita Ann Wilson (Carol), Garry Lamb (Sandy), Judy Lewis (Charlie), Steve Lamb (Joyce), Mary Kay Blandford (Dewayne), and Misty Bidwell (Joshua); 12 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, George Lee Whistle; sisters, Frances McGrew (Donnie), Clara Mae Donahue, and Virginia Clouse; best friend, Pat Ford; numerous nieces, nephews and church friends.
Services will be noon, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Jerry Ford officiating assisted by Reverend Scott Simms and Reverend Troy Wilkes. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8pm and Tuesday from 10 till noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
