Nancy C. Kennedy

Nancy C. Kennedy, 91, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Wellington Parc. She was born June 22, 1932 in Whitesville, Kentucky, to the late George D. Childers Sr. and Edna Egelston Childers. Nancy was the office manager and a trustee for the Lester E. Yeager Charitable Trust; secretary to the president of Citizens State Bank and a legal secretary for William L. Wilson. She was an accomplished pianist for several churches in Daviess County, including Macedonia Baptist, Bellevue Baptist and First Baptist, where she was a longtime member.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Louis Kennedy; son, Ray Walker Kennedy; granddaughter, Tiffany Kennedy; and siblings, George Childers Jr., Bob Childers, Eudell Evans, Nona Faye Horsley, Imogene Chapman, Gladys Pinnow and Cecil Childers.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Olivia Kennedy, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
