Norma Embry, 86, of Owensboro, passed away August 30, 2018 at the Owensboro Center in Owensboro, Kentucky. She was born in Butler County, Kentucky on July 16, 1932 to Walter Isom Cox and Iva Dora Johnson Cox. Norma worked in healthcare at the Carmel Home in Owensboro. She was a member of Wesleyan Methodist and enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Ray Embry, in 2014, and brothers Denzil Cox, Odel Cox, W.L. Cox, Audley Cox, Wavard Cox and Nelson Cox.
Survivors include two sons, David and Linda Kay Embry and Michael R. Embry and one daughter, Deborah Embry Thompson and William Thompson, all of Owensboro; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one brother, Clavard Cox of Owensboro.
Services will be at 12:00 pm Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery.
