Pauline Cox, 85, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 13, 1933, in Reed, KY to the late William Robert Phillips and Blanch Logston Phillips. Pauline was retired from Executive Inn in Evansville and served as a member of Audubon Area Senior Service Corps Senior Companion Program for 12 years.
She was a member of Whosoever Will Mission.
She enjoyed helping others, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Cox in 1980; an infant son, Chester Cox; a son, John Edward Cox; a grandson, Cody Carlisle; a granddaughter, Amanda Allen; two brothers, Chester and Johnny Phillips Sr.; and four sisters, Dellamae Johnson, Ethel (Bobby) Burgard, Dorothy Sircy, and Irene Phillips.
She is survived by two sons, Howard Cox, Sr. of Livermore, and Roger (Tammy) Cox of Stanley; three daughters, Edna (Jim) Terry of Owensboro, and Blanch (Eddie) Allen and Susan Allen all of Grayville, IL.; a stepson, Jimmy Cox of Owensboro; a stepdaughter, Brenda Priar of Owensboro, 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren, eight step great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory.
Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 am Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
