Philip Lee Isbell, 69, of Evansville, formerly of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born November 9, 1948 in Daviess Co. to the late Parker and Nanette Osborne Isbell. Philip was retired from the Army National Guard and was a Viet Nam veteran having served in the Navy. He loved his country and the time he served in the military and also had a passion for fishing, especially enjoying his fishing trips to Canada. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Isbell in 2015, an infant brother, Parker Isbell, an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth Isbell, a sister, Libby Medley in 2017, a niece, Joy Lyons in 2015, a brother-in-law, Marvin Vaught.
Surviving are his daughters, Rachael Riley and husband Jason of Newburgh, Indiana and Leia Isbell of Chandler, Indiana, two granddaughters, Jenna and Laura Riley, both of Newburgh, two sisters, Judy (Randy) Adams and Pat Vaught, of Owensboro, five brothers, Chris Isbell, Greg Isbell, Richard Isbell, and David Isbell, all of Owensboro, and Tim Isbell, of Cincinnati, and numerous nieces and nephews .
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 25, at the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery with full military honors. Burial will follow there. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
