Ray Welsh, 55, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born on March 10, 1962, in Owensboro to Marjorie Horn Welsh and the late William Welsh. Ray worked as a contractor for Welsh Construction Company for many years.
He was a member of By His Side Church.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting and camping, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Along with his father he was preceded in death by his step granddaughter, Kathern Freels; and a nephew, Matt Welsh
Including his mother, he is survived by his wife of four years, Keisha Welsh; a son, Joe (Angel) Welsh of Owensboro; three daughters, Lacie (Will) McLaughlin of Owensboro, Danielle Welsh of Owensboro, and Crystal (Devin) Alexander of Mansfield OH; two stepsons, Ben Frey, and Colyn Goins both of Evansville, IN.; one stepdaughter, Deana Goins of Evansville, IN.; nine grandchildren, Izaiah, Aiden, Lyrik, Kaydence, Zoie, Charlotte, Parker, Braden, and Tucker; four brothers, Jim (Marlene) Welsh of Newport, VA., Bill (Vickie) Welsh of Fort Knox, KY, Bob (Karen) Welsh and Joe (Rubene) Welsh both of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. A committal service will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. The family of Ray will welcome family and friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
