Ruby James

Ruby H. James, 94, of Owensboro, died on Sunday, May 19, 2019 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born October 9, 1924 in Butler County, KY to the late I.T. and Arizona Garner Hines. She retired after 40 years from General Electric and was a member of Seventh Day Adventists Church of Owensboro. Ruby loved to volunteer for the Red Cross and Seventh Day Adventists Disaster Team. She was also a member of CERT. and the Medical Reserve Corp.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Doug James; daughter, Joyce Marie Green; and a foster daughter, Trudy James.

Survivors include her son, Ricky L. James (Kristy Clark); three grandchildren, Avery, Rainbow and Riley; stepdaughter, Barbara Stone; and a special friend, Linda Hale.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
