Stephen Eakins

Stephen Bruce Eakins, 63, of Owensboro died Wednesday May 9, 2018 at the University of Louisville Hospital. Mr. Eakins was born December 13, 1954 in Owensboro to the late Marion C. Eakins and Susan Mary Harl Eakins. Steve served his country in both the Air Force and Army. He was then employed for Houchens Industries at IGA as a Department Manager from which he retired. Steve was an avid reader who also loved playing golf, fishing, and cross word puzzles. He was a long standing member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church.

Survivors include his three brothers: Randy Eakins and wife Kim of Owensboro, Jerry Eakins and wife Jan of Apopka, Florida, and Roger Eakins and wife Tammy of Cottrellville, Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to The American Cancer Society, 1302 Frederica St, Owensboro, KY 42301.

A private interment service will be held.
