William "Bill" Lee Hinton, 94 of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Twin Rivers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Bill was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Daviess County to the late Walter Hinton and Essie Boone Hinton. He was a retired delivery driver for Swan Cleaners where he worked for 64 years. Bill was a Navy Veteran and served during WWII in the Solomon Islands.
He was a member of Whitesville Christian Church.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ann Hinton; a daughter, Pat Parson, three brothers, Owen, Wallace and Herman Hinton.
He is survived by two sons, William B. (Marsha) Hinton of Owensboro, and Robin L. Hinton of Lewisport; seven grandchildren, LeAnn Duke, JJ Parson, Danny Hinton, Andy Hinton, Byron Hinton, Misty Cambron and Lucretia Horne; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 pm Wednesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory.
Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm and after 12 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
