William E. "Bill" Parks, 83, of Masonville, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Owensboro to the late Otis T. Parks, Sr and Catherine Westerfield Parks.
Bill retired from Green River Electric Corporation in 1995 after more than twenty-seven years of service as a mechanic. He was previously employed by Ken-Gas. Bill was a charter member of Masonville Baptist Church. He also served as a handyman to the neighborhood, handling everything from small fix-it jobs to welding projects. Bill was a loyal Ford man and thoroughly enjoyed U.K. Basketball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Otis T. Parks, Jr. and Glenn Parks.
Mr. Parks is survived by his wife of sixty years, Peggy Parks; a daughter, Jackie Smith (Dan) of Masonville; sons, Jeff Parks (Lisa) and Mark Parks (Dawn), all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Michelle McAllister (John), Michael McCulloch (Cheryl), Harley Glotzbach (Jacob) and Ciera Bratcher (Chaz); great-grandchildren, Elise McAllister, Isaiah McAllister, Whitney Taylor (Travis) and Elliana Coomes; great-great-grandchildren, Carson and Audrey Taylor; and a brother, Terry Parks (Betty).
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 5 at Masonville Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. There will also be visitation at the church Tuesday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery.
