William Lee Yancey, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Carmel Home. He was born on June 18, 1932 in St. Joseph, KY to the late Silas Pittman Yancey and Lula Mae Wathen Yancey. He retired from General Motors, Allison Division, in Indianapolis as an office clerk after 32 years. William was an U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Flora J. Yancey in 2015; two sisters, Violet Marie Russell and Rosemary Burk.
Survivors include stepdaughters, Cindy Stallings (Marty) and Jennifer Mulligan Elliott (David); and a sister, Shirley Whistle.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 in the Chapel at Rosehill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory
